MAKING SURE YOUR BRAKES WORK WELL COULD SAVE YOUR LIFE!

Brakes are an integral part of your vehicle. If you can’t break, you can’t stop – and that’s a huge problem. Making sure your brakes are in good working condition can prevent accidents and even save your life.

Checking and fixing car brakes is complicated and should always be done by a certified professional. Each vehicle has different brakes depending on the make and model.

CHECKING YOUR BRAKES

Checking or installing brakes is a complex procedure that can include any of the following:

  • Examining brake pads and replacing any if necessary
  • Turning rotors
  • Checking brake fluid levels
  • Repairing an old or bleeding brake lines

WHEN SHOULD YOU GET YOUR BRAKES CHECKED?

Brakes degrade at varying rates. How long your brakes will hold up depends on the type of car you drive, and the road and weather conditions in which you drive. Some people like to have their brakes checked once a year for safety. Yearly brake checkups are certainly a good idea, but there are several warning signs that tell you when it’s time to get your brakes checked, like: the “check brakes” light coming on; any strange sounds when you brake (such as squeaking or grinding); or, vibrations when breaking.

If you experience any of these warning signs, it’s important to have your car brakes checked immediately by Ric and Rocky’s skilled auto technicians.
